Roof Damage

FACT: These conditions can reduce the longevity of your roof by up to 80% and 90% on some accounts

The recent storms which we have experienced in the Atlanta Metro area including Stockbrige, Ellenwood, Forest Park, Morrow and even as far as Columbus and Macon, have caused many homeowners concern over knowing what has been damaged as a result of the hail and high wind storms.

As a homeowner or property owner, there are some facts you may not be aware of when it comes to storm damage such as how your roof may be affected.

Some things you should keep in your mind when it comes to hail and other damage is that high winds can cause your shingles protective granule coating to loosen and fall off which may lead to more damage to the underlayment and could eventually lead to leaks and even water damage. Some high winds, like we’ve seen in the Atlanta area, have caused shingles to blow off which can cause leaks by interfere with the flow of water down your roof leaving open areas for the water to get in to. Also, tree foliage from the wind have can cause damage as limbs and other debris falls onto your roof and may puncture the shingles. As the shingles blow off and/or the roof is punctured from debris, your it becomes unprotected and vulnerable to leaks and other problems.

Being aware that your home may have damage is the first step. Calling a reputable contractor is next. We would love that opportunity to offer you a free inspection to assess how much hail damage you have had on your roofing system.

After one of our insurance claims specialists inspect your property, we at Reeves Construction will then work with your insurance carrier to ensure that you receive full replacement cost value for all of your losses due to its cause.
