Roofing Companies Are Everywhere …
A roofing contractor’s goal is, or least we pray it should be, to end up with a quality roofing job and a happy customer. Notice we didn’t say “satisfied customer.” Who wants to be satisfied? No way — as consumers and paying customers, we want to be happy. Even excited about the job we paid to have completed. And as a contractor, that’s really what we want as well.
If we’re just “satisfied” as customers, we may not share the roofing contractors name with anyone. Unless Aunt Suzi happens to ask. On the other hand, if we are excited about the roofer we hired to do the job, we might just tell everyone. We might hand out that roofers’ business card, post an exciting status on Facebook, upload a beautiful picture of our new roof on Instagram, or mention that roofing company in a tweet.
In a recent Roofing Contractors Homeowners Survey, sponsored by IKO and CertainTeed, we found some interesting information on how most homeowners choose the right roofing contractors for their homes CLICK HERE.
So the question of the hour…
Where do homeowners turn to find a roofing contractor?
The survey asked how homeowners found out about the contractors who came to their home and provided quotes and then how they found the roofer who actually won the contract.
The numbers….
Over 50% of homeowners received recommendations and referrals from friends for the roofers who came out and gave estimates. 24% of people surveyed received recommendations from their neighbors. Just 9% of homeowners polled gave their family credit for the referral on which roofing contractor to use. It seems people are looking to the internet as it came in as the third most popular, over 20%, way homeowners found and contacted a roofer to come out and give them a quote. The use of the online homeowner review platform, Angie’s List, accounted for 9% of the poll. And lastly, manufactures websites accounted for about 6% of searches and quotes received from the roofing contractor.
With so much information and so many option these days, it still seems that word-of-mouth referrals are still the most valuable and the highest quality lead we as roofing contractors can get.
