3 Things To Make Sure Your Roof Is Ready for Spring – Roof Repair

Reeves Roofing - Reeves Construction - Roof Ready for Spring

Ahhh, that feeling in finally here. When Winter and Spring cease to wrestle for atmospheric-control and Spring ever so gently takes the wheel for the season ahead. Spring is here — time to open the windows, dust off the grill, and get out in the yard. It’s also a great time to check your roof for any possibilities of leaks after a long winter season as we know Spring can bring it’s own harsh weather such as high winds, heavy rain and depending which area of the country you reside, it may even bring hail or tornadoes. For us in the Greenville and Spartanburg area, we can see lots of hail, winds coming off coastal storms and even micro-burst storms which produce damaging elements. Now is a great time to be evaluating Roofing Contractors in your area in the event a need develops.

To get your roof ready for Spring, we suggest looking at the three steps below and address each roofing condition accordingly to ensure that your home and roof is ready to stand against such storms that we’re sure to see this Spring. Roof Shingles can take a beating under certain storm conditions.

3 Things You Should Do To Make Sure Your Roof Is Ready for Spring.

1. Are your shingles curling? If your roofing shingles are beginning to curl at the edges, this means that your shingles will be much more susceptible to blowing off during a storm that bears high winds (like we’ve seen in the Greenville SC and Spartanburg SC areas).
2. Are you shingles deteriorating? Be careful, but grab a ladder and look in your gutters. What do you see? Are there quite a few granules (sometimes referred to as “sand”) in there? If you witness an excess of granules, this probably means that the shingles on the roof are beginning to deteriorate and that it may be time to have an experienced and licensed roofing contractor provide an inspection for you.
3. Are you missing any shingles? Missing shingles on a roof is an easy way to spot roofing damage. It’s also a clear sign that you need to have your roof inspected and repaired before the Spring storms start to roll in.
Are you in the Greenville or Spartanburg area? Or somewhere in the Upstate of South Carolina? If so, we’d be happy to provide a free roofing evaluation and estimate for any repairs or replacements necessary. Feel free to call us at 864-574-1290 or contact us HERE!
